Who says petitions don't work!

You’ll remember we reviewed Dark Souls last year, brought to us by Namco Bandai Games. The game was pegged to one of the most difficult world sprawling games playable and they weren’t exactly lying to us – the game was/is a total nightmare and definitely can boast to being one of the most difficult games we’ve ever played in our entire lives. Anyone with a console was able to try their skill and tackle the monsters of Dark Souls…if you were however a PC gamer, the joys and frustrations that came with the game were not accessible…

Now we’ve all felt the pressure of the man and his thumb pressing down on us and at one stage or another we’ve signed a petition shoved under our noses by some weird hippy chick who seemed overly friendly but we’ve never been ones to believe in the power of a signature on a piece of paper (that wasn’t a death warrant!) but it seems we have been proved wrong or at the very least we are about to be…

Last week a Namco Representative was responding to a few questions on comments on the community boards when he happened to mention that if there were a strong enough demand for the game to be brought to PC then perhaps the company might respond and be more inclined to bring out a PC release, clearly not  aware the impact his post would have on the readers, it seems that it wasn’t just one or two people on a Forum who wanted the  release!

Within one week of the post, an online petition was drafted and in that space of time over 60,000 signatures were collected. Published over at petitionbureau.org by dinpoke, the petition has gathered 72,404 signatures to date! You can see for yourself over here: Dark Souls for PC

The story doesn’t end there however as the same representative from Namco was directed to the petition and has been making his bosses aware of what their customers want:

Damn you are amazing!

I honestly wasn’t expecting such a massive support. My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this, after it explodes all around the world. If you wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it.
The future is in your hands, and I hope you will keep supporting this.

I make a personal objective to make sure every relevant people in Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort.

So if you’d like to a PC release for Dark Souls, you know what to do… take two seconds out of your day and sign the petition!
