Bioshock Infinite

Watch the trailer below before continuing on to read!

Now are you all goosebumps and butterflies? Don’t feel bad if you were fooled into thinking we’d be returning to Rapture for the 3rd instalment in the Bioshock series, that intro got us too! The secret of Bioshock Infinite has been kept close to the hearts of the developers, Irrational Games and creative director Ken Levine.

Bioshock Infinite will not be a prequel to the first game although it takes place almost fifty years before the events of the first game. Infinite takes us into the skies and out of the water but that doesn’t mean it is any less threatening. From the trailer we can see that some sort of ‘Big Daddy’ type creature is alive and stalking the grounds of ‘Columbia’, the floating city. According to Levin, Columbia isn’t some ‘…floating world’s fair. Columbia is a Death Star’, what it’s purpose is/was still remains a mystery as do its origins.

We all see the return of some powers/plasmids, whether they will still be called plasmids is unknown but the woman who we’ve learned is ‘Elisabeth’ uses telekinesis to try and save the man before he falls to his untimely death.

No exact release date has been given yet but we are looking at a late 2011 or early 2012 release!

Being loud about keeping quiet

“Personally, I don’t want to have Link speak in the game. We haven’t had him talk at all up to this point. It’s part of the series history. It would just, to me, break the image of Link to have him speak.”

That’s what Eiji Aonuma had to tell the folks over at Nintendo Power about one of the gaming world’s favourite fantasy heroes. The green armour clad warrior will remain mute for as long as the franchise will continue and we’re kind of glad.
Yes we were excited when the protagonists of the Final Fantasy series spoke their first words but part of the magic of the Zelda series is the silence and if it’s good enough for Dr. Gordon Freeman then it is certainly good enough for our Link.

Yoda appears in Unleashed II

Good news for all you fans of the Star Wars: ‘The Force Unleashed’ fans as Yoda has been confirmed to make an appearance in the sequel which is set for release this October.

Everyone’s favourite green Jedi master will appear in the sequel to the highly acclaimed ‘The Force Unleashed’ and Lucas Arts were kind enough to let us know how:

“Starkiller, having escaped the clutches of Darth Vader on the planet Kamino, senses something calling out to him from the planet Dagobah. Arriving there, he encounters a familiar face and one of the most powerful Jedi to ever live – Yoda. Outside of the iconic Cave of Evils, Yoda provides Starkiller with crucial insight about the inner turmoil tearing his mind apart and his quest to reunite with Juno Eclipse.”
