Red Dead Redemption is the sequel to Red Dead Revolver, it is Western style shooter based in the early years of the 20th century. The game is a cross between Activision’s GUN and the GTA series. It is a sand box based game where the player is free to choose what they do but still maintaining the linear story mission to progress through the game. From riding into a town and shooting the sheriff in the head, to helping the sheriff stop bandits from robbing, either way you can make a living off of it. You can get around to the three different zones by different methods of transport from different breeds of horses, Trains or for the less fortunate using their legs. Horses being the main mode of transport in the game they are upgradable so with the right amount of money you can buy better horses or lasso and train wild ones.
The world of Red Dead Redemption is a living breeding one. If you stay in the same place for long enough as the day changes you will notice how the surrounds change as night falls.
As a western game the gunplay is very important. Rockstar has implemented a feature called “Dead-Eye” targeting system, very similar to bullet time, where the player can slow down time and move around to shoot people more accurately.
The multiplayer is a major element in the game as it is very similar to the latest GTA game where you can invite up to sixteen players. There are various versus game modes which can pitch you up against 7 players where you can fight to defend or capture a certain part of land, this is only one of many verses modes that are at hand. All in all we are looking forward to getting our hands on this game to start hunting for flowers and lassoing innocent bystanders.
