Iceman Reveals Sexuality In Uncanny X-Men #600
Uncanny X-Men #600 hit shelves this week, and with it brought a revelation that has had question marks over it for a few months. In All New X-Men #40 , in a story arc that saw the young X-Men stuck in the future, with their future counterparts, a conversation with young Jean Grey revealed that Bobby Drake was in fact gay.
Flash forward to this week where the young Bobby Drake finally finds the courage to confront his future self about it. In a conversation that tugged at the heart strings, older Bobby saw the courage it took for his younger self to admit he was a gay mutant. Older Bobby explained how he would constantly put all his energy into being an X-man and a mutant, and putting everybody else before himself, fearful because he just wanted one part of his life that he wouldn’t be persecuted for.
