I’ve been increasingly drifting more into punk as the year drags on, and with this track of the day I bring ‘Mabu’ by my current favourite band, PUP. I discovered them from a friend after their music video for their song ‘Guilt Trip’ had been nominated for a Juno award last year. Since then, I’ve seen them live – yes they kick ass, and yes I’ll be going to see them again in August.
A love-letter to singer Stefan Babcock‘s Toyota Camry, ‘Mabu’ comes from their self-titled debut album. You should also check out the music video for the song, as it stands as a sendoff to Babcock‘s childhood car by entering it in a demolition derby.
