The director for the upcoming Jurassic World 2 has been announced as J.A. Bayona.
Bayona made his name directing Spanish horror The Orphanage. Jurassic-series producer Frank Marshall made the announcement via Twitter. Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first Jurassic World, is directing Star Wars: Episode IX, though he’s still co-writing the script and will be executive producing with Steven Spielberg.
Jurassic World became one of the top grossing films of all-time when it was released last Summer, proving there was still plenty of life in the dinosaur franchise. Lead actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are expected to return for the sequel.
