Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista has been confirmed for Blade Runner 2.
Representatives from Alcon Entertainment made the announcement after the pro-wrestler had teased involvement over the weekend. Bautista is currently filming the second Guardians of the Galaxy movie with director James Gunn, with his last role having been in the latest James Bond romp, Spectre, late last year.
Very little is known about the story of Blade Runner 2, other than it will be set decades after the original and Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Deckard.
Bautista and Ford will be joined by Robin Wright and Ryan Gosling for the film. Denis Villeneuve is set to direct with a script from Michael Green and Hampton Fancher. Ridley Scott, who directed the first Blade Runner, will executive producer.
Shooting is set to begin this July for release in January next year.

Against my better judgement I’m really excited for this. The sequel book was decent enough considering what it had to stand in the shadow of.
My money is on Dave as an android. Some absolute powerhouse built for breaking walls.
