After his time on the Suicide Squad set, during which he put a lot of effort into taking a semi-method acting approach to his version of The Joker, Jared Leto has said that he may be “locked up” once the public get to see his on-screen performance.

Much like previous Joker actor Heath Ledger, whose method acting took him to some very dark places, Leto had taken to acting pretty oddly on set. Other cast members commented on how strange his behaviour could be at times, though the statements were of praise, rather than criticism. It seems that some of this weirdness may also be bleeding over to Leto‘s musical career with 30 Seconds to Mars.

Reported by thenational.ae, when speaking to a fan, Leto stated, “I can’t wait for you to see this. They’re going to lock me away in a box after this movie comes out.”

That may be a bit of a stretch. After all, if he can make it though Requiem for a Dream without needing some special time in a padded room, he’ll probably be fine after a stint as the Clown Prince of Crime.

What say you? Are you looking forward to Leto‘s take on the Joker? Tell us in the comments!
