Steam Now Offering Refunds
Oh happy day, folks! You can finally refund a game on steam that you’ve played for 20 minutes before realising your error. Steam released the news that they are now offering refunds for any reason at all, be it you disliked the game, haven’t met the hardware requirements or merely purchased it by mistake. However, it should be noted that this is assuming that you meet the required guidelines; the refund request must be made within 14 days of purchase and cannot exceed 2 hours play time. A full list of requirements and guidelines can be found at the link above.
Previously, Steam has been notorious for their no refund policy in recent years with users often complaining that they had been mislead by early access titles or shoddy play testing in triple A releases. The most notable of these complaints came in August 2014 when the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) sued Valve over claims that Australian consumers had been mislead about their rights when being refused refunds.
How happy are you about this news? Have you been let down by a Steam game before? Let us know in the comments!
