Cheap Girls – Hey, Hey, I’m Worn Out
Having only recently found these guys, I cannot stop listening to them. Between the upbeat drums and the catchy hooks, this is one to bang out while in the car with the windows down, and the trees flying by.
The Winter Passing – Fruits of Gloom
Ok, I know I said this would be upbeat and stuff but listen, sometimes there’s a song that nails the perfect mix of huge choruses and gorgeous guitars that just needs to be played on a sunny day. A shoutout as well to some of the amazing bands playing in Ireland at the minute.
Moose Blood – Bukowski
We are back on track. Straight up summery pop punk about being in love. Sure what more can you really ask for?
Kendrick Lamar – i
I defy you not to throw this song on while you’re having a nice stroll around town and not have a little strut in your step. Kendrick’s new album ‘I’ is so funky and infectious whilst also dealing with some serious and heavy issues. He is 100% one to watch in the scene.
Baths – Aminals
This is my absolute go-to sunny day track. Instrumental electronica that just perfectly encapsulates lying on the grass in a park with your friends, ready for the summer ahead.
The Beach Boys – God Only Knows
This is the one and only summer band. There is never a time during these three months when this song is inappropriate. Go on and have a good sing song!
Bakermat – Teach Me
Last but not least comes a song so infectious you might be humming along to it on rainy days too! If this doesn’t make you want to get out clubbing we don’t know what will.
