Oculus Sends Out Mysterious Invites For June Event
So it looks like some of the questions that have been making the rounds across the internet about Oculus Rift might be answered sooner than we thought.
Oculus VR, which was acquired by Facebook last year for a cool $2 billion, sent out a series of invites to members of the media during the week. The invites tout a ‘Step into the Rift’ event in San Francisco on the 11th of June; they’ve come out just two weeks after the company announced a consumer-ready version of the Oculus Rift that will be ready in early 2016. Coincidence? We think not.
Unfortunately, there is not much information about the event itself. There is no agenda or exact location listed, but it’s likely the event will be focused on the next version of the headset. Oculus have also recently announced that they will be accepting pre-orders later in the year.
It’s also noted that the photo of the headset looks different to the prototype that has been seen in the past. The June event sees it running a week before the E3 gaming event in LA, where Oculus VR is expected to host a press event.
