The general consensus towards the latest Fantastic Four film has been very mixed, to say the least, and the trailers up to this point haven’t done much to put any worries at ease.
Thankfully, a new trailer at least gives us a look at the team’s powers in action, and a bit more context into the overall plot, and I have to say, I’m now firmly in the “I want to see this” camp.
Johnny Storm, played by Michal B. Jordan, gets a lot of screen-time flying and generally flaming on, while we get a better look at Jamie Bell’s Thing, who seems to get used as a weapon during the film. There were comparisons to the trans-galactic plot of Interstellar in earlier clips, and it seems that idea wasn’t too far off as Reed Richards’ invention literally transports them to another dimension, with their powers coming as a direct side effect of what transpires on that journey. We also get our first proper look at Dr. Doom, who looks menacing, if nothing else.
