We all want another season of Firefly, but unfortunately, that’s incredibly unlikely. What’s more likely, though, is seeing the varios cast members work together again, and that’s just what this is.
Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk have decided to go the crowd-funding route for their latest comedy venture Con Man. The show is basically a sitcom based on the life of ex-cast members of popular sci-fi shows as they attend varios conventions in their later career. So, a sort of meta-comedy for the men.
The pitch video is as charming as you’d imagine, with the two men having an obvious rapport with each other. “The series is a light-hearted take on the personalities, luminaries, and characters in the scifi community we are privileged to call ourselves members,” the campaign page states. “Con Man is a way to share some of the surreal occurrences we have had, while telling the story of a guy learning to love and embrace his fans.”
The official page states the men have already donated some of their own money, but the costs of this, which include simulating an actual conventi0n, are relatively high. Plus, crowd-funding allows fans to get an eagle-eye view of how everything is done and ease of access to the episodes as they are launched.
The campaign is for an initial three episodes and can be found here!
