Sinister Six Film 'Still In Development' Says Sony
The news this morning about Spider-Man being in a shared deal between Sony and Marvel has elated fans everywhere. It has also meant that Sony’s previous plans of expanding the franchise were thought to have been completely wiped out in favor of another restart. This does seem to be true, for the most, except that the Sinister Six film remains in production, with its release date now to be confirmed ahead of Spidey’s return to the big screen now being pegged for 2017.
According to the Wall Street Journal, someone involved in the film’s production has said, “The studio will rethink its approach to the film, which remains in development, in light of the new agreement with Marvel.”
The new Spider-Man film has pushed four upcoming Marvel films back, with Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Inhumans all shifting to make room for the web-slinger.
