Netflix are truly taking the bull by the horns in terms of creating their own series. With major successes like Orange is the New Black and House of Cards on their books, Netflix are now diving into the family live action entertainment side of the table.
They have already picked up the rights to live-action comedy Richie Rich – they have now also obtained the rights to bestselling book series Lemony SnicketsA Series of Unfortunate Events” with the plans to adapt them to a live action series, with the search for a director to adapt the series underway. Netflix are producing the project series along with Paramount Television – who produced the 2004 film adaptation starring Jim Carrey.
