Gail Simone To Write New Secret Six Run With DC
The ever wondrous Gail Simone, who you might know from the incredible Red Sonja and Batgirl New 52 run, has just announced via her Facebook page that she will be doing a Secret Six run with DC. There was much speculation about where Gail would be taking her skills next after her departure from Batgirl, a run many, myself included, did not want to end. But she assured us it would be a worthwhile book, and as it turns out, it is!
With Ken Lahley doing art along with Dale Eaglesham, this is actually not Gail’s first run at Secret Six, but it is the first time the team will be used post-New 52. Simone has briefly described some of what to expect with the first issue in December, stating that the opening scenario sees Catman and Black Alice, the former Gail worked with pre-52 and the latter a fresh creation from Simone for Birds of Prey, and four strangers meet in a room together. That said, the other four characters can be seen in the cover of issue 1, which can be viewed above. This incarnation of the Secret Six will involve villains turned anti-heroes, and is described as a ‘very dangerous and sexy book.’ Considering the people behind it, no doubt it will also be a very good book, too!
