While still reeling here from the aftermath of Arcadecon first up on the agenda is SDCC, the amount of news that came out this is staggering so we’ll just give you a brief run down and some pretty pictures, enjoy.
- New Iron Man Armour revealed!
Iron Man News is no stranger to SDCC, perhaps one of the most anticipated upcoming movies is Iron Man 3, a new suit of armour was revealed a lot less red than I expected but looks amazing none the less, also a couple of extended clips of the Tony Stark experimenting with this new Armour the Mk. VIII in his R&D lab with Jarvis and his robotic buddies.
- Captain America and Thor Sequels Renamed
Captain America 2 and Thor 2 have been given official names, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: The Dark World. No other details were given but we can speculate. The Winter Solider is the name James “Bucky” Barnes was given when he was brainwashed into a Super Assassin, so we could have another Cap movie set in the 40’s possibly without Cap, or set in the present day with Cap’s past and old friend coming back to haunt him. Thor on the other hand is a little more vague, The Dark World sounds like something more sinister the seedy underbelly of Asgard? or maybe a decent into Hel or Niflheim ruled over by Hela?
- Guardians of the Galaxy officially confirmed
We knew this was coming it was literally all but officially announced, given the movie is still two years away not much details exist to be shared but Marvel’s Kevin Feige did comment on the team’s line up. We will have:
Gamora, the adopted daughter of Thanos.
Drax The Destroyer, an incredibly powerful alien whose sole purpose in life is to destroy Thanos.
Groot, a super-smart living plant who can regenerate himself even when reduced to something as small as a branch.
Rocket Racoon, the leader of the Guardians,the sharp shooting sharp talking bi-pedal space-raccoon!
Star-Lord, a former Earth astronaut called Peter Quill.
- Ant-Man Movie will probably happen
An Ant-Man movie will happen with with Edgar Wright set to direct, no details were given, no cast or even a hint at a release date, So my guess would be 2015 at the very earliest. Kind of an odd choice for a movie, but In this time when ANY Marvel property seems to have shot at the big screen now, why not Ant-Man? In the books he is a size changing founding member of the Avengers who has the ability to control ants with his “Ant Controlling Helmet” he also accidentally invents Ultron the killer robot, which general causes a very bad day for all involved.
- Superman Info
3 minutes of clips were shown, some featuring Superman being escorted in chains by some soldiers with some shots of Clark Kent clean shaven and working at the Daily Planet and others were he appears more disheveled, with narration by Jor-El (Russel Crowe). Overall it looks like a much darker tone than we are used to for Superman on the bigscreen, also Zack Snyder still refuses to confirm Zod as the villain despite the actor who plays him has talked about it many times.

The First episodic Halo 4 DLC will go live October 5
