That’s right; it seems this month is going to be busier in the Japanese music industry than we originally expected! After a two year hiatus Antic Cafe (アンティック-珈琲店-, abbreviated to ‘An Cafe’) have announced they will be resuming activities this year!
This unexpected news first came about on April 1st, leading many fans to suspect it to be a cruel April Fools joke, but it seems this is not the case. While each member of the band has, in the last two years, been a part of other projects (vocalist Miku having been in band Lc5 and bassist Kanon being in KanonxKanon for example) it seems that the five do intend to get back together and pick up where they left off. A new CD is planned for release sometime in the summer of this year.
This news comes from Yatter Japan’s Ustream channel, which started broadcasting a video at 9:00PM (JST) that recapped An Cafe’s entire history. At the end of this video the stream cut to the band, who then went on to talk about what they had done in the time since the hiatus began and what was to come next for An Cafe, news that left cafekkos all over the world very nyappy indeed.
