Set up as a prequel to 2004 Battlestar Galactica series, Blood and Chrome is set during the early days of the first Cylon War and follows the recently graduated Viper Pilot William “Husker” Adama. Not much more is known about the story at this point. but from the trailer it is pretty action packed, which isn’t really the first image that I think about when I think Battlestar. Then again a spin off really needs to set a new tone for itself to create it’s own identity, and given when it’s set, when the colonies are united and fully supplied against the Cylons, they will be able to afford larger scale conflicts than the Galactica on it’s own with limited crew and supplies.
The previous Battlestar spin off Caprica, didn’t go so well here is hoping for more for Blood and Chrome. One this is for certain it is going to be hard to match the chemistry and screen precense commanded by some of the original cast. Edward James Olmos(Old Adama), Mary McDonnel (President Roslin) and James Callis (Baltar) really carried the show.
Also is it my imagination or is there a tentacle monster in there some where?
