The Vocaloid sensation continues, it seems, with Yamaha doing it’s bit to help virtual idol Hatsune Miku move one step further to reality. Recently brought to our attention was this; a Vocaloid keyboard. The instrument is designed to work like the computer software, allowing for users to input both lyrics and pitch in order to create a Hatsune Miku song in real time. We’re not completely sure how it works, but the video above should help to show you what we’re talking about!
At present there seem to be no plans to release the keyboard commercially, let alone outside of Japan, the intention being to utilise it for live performances. The technology seems promising nonetheless and is likely to be adapted for other ventures in the future. We’re not exactly good with a normal keyboard, so we’ll leave this one to the pros!
