I know I’ve already featured Coldrain on this column before, but they recently announced their first headlining UK tour and it’s hitting Glasgow, so you’ll excuse me if I’m a little excited! These guys are honestly a barnstormer live, sounding as tight as they do in the studio, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them perform tracks off of 2015’s VENA.
‘Words of the Youth’ is one of those tracks that equally showcases vocalist Masato‘s outstanding clean and harsh vocals. While tracks like ‘The Revelation’ leaned far more towards a metalcore sound, VENA brought the band back to a more alternative-rock style. These guys are one of Japan’s finest metal exports and you really should listen to them if you life rock, post-hardcore, metalcore, or just any good heavy music.
