Warner Bros. are already set to distribute the aptly described ‘forbidden sequel’ to the previous three Death Note films. Anime News Network report that this new film will follow a present day story of characters who have inherited L and Light’s DNA set in a world where cyber-terrorism plagues the Earth. The newly introduced L and Light 2.0 are set to wage a war over an apparent six Death Notes that are on Earth.

Needless to say, following the unbelievable success of the Death Note franchise, it is no surprise that a new film is emerging. However, the question is: Do we need a new film?

What do you think? Should the franchise come to a natural end or continue with adaptations? Let us know in the comments!
