If you ask me, Shane Black directing a The Predator is the best thing that could happen.
Shane Black knows the score when it comes to action films. He wrote The Last Boy Scout and Lethal Weapon. He also wrote and directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys. If that isn’t enough, he also has first-hand experience with Predators (he was in Predator and helped with the script) so he’s the man for the job.
This week, Black took to Twitter to announce that The Predator began filming, So he posted a partial cast photo.
Partial cast… beautiful human beings, good people. Also, killers. Cameras roll today. Follow me on Twitter for updates. Wish us luck. pic.twitter.com/vYGgGesW0Y

In the photo we have (from left to right) Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay (who apparently will play Holbrook‘s son), Shane Black himself, Olivia Munn and Keegan-Michael Key. Missing from the photo is Thomas Jane, who recently joined the cast.
Black also confirmed that he’s aiming for an R rating for the film. In his words, “spines bleed a lot.”
We don’t know anything about the story, so I have several questions. This is a Shane Black film, so will it take place during Christmas? Will two of the people in the photo become buddies even though they’re opposites?!
We’ll have to wait until 2018 to find answers to that.
