The game gain a large following online after a first look revealed it as a potential successor for PT, the Silent Hills playable teaser that Konami removed after their separation with developer Hideo Kojima. It initially went to Kickstarter for funding before it was picked up by publisher Team 17 for full development.
The team had been quiet since February, with no indication they were struggling. Fans have expressed widespread disappointment at the news.
We’ll be sure to update with the full statement when it becomes available.
