Based on a popular short film of the same name, Lights Out is a new horror movie from producer James Wan.
The premise is the same as the short film – a malevolent creature appears every time certain people turn off the light. If they’re in the dark long enough, the spectre will get them. The short included one woman encountering the ghost, the movie has added multiple targets.
The original was created by David S. Sandberg for the ‘Who’s There’ film challenge. It’s a sub-three minute long movie that won several awards and gained internet notoriety after it went viral.
Sandberg was tapped to direct to full-length version, which stars Teresa Palmer and Gabriel Bateman. Eris Heisserer wrote the screenplay, while Wan, Heisserer and Lawrence Gray served as producers.
