Deadline has reported that Breck Eisner is in talks to direct the new Friday The 13th movie.
The series is in limbo at the minute as the rights holders, Paramount, partnered with Platinum Dunes to create a new movie. In early 2015, V/H/S director David Bruckner was brought in to helm the film, based on a script by Nick Antosca (NBC’s Hannibal), but both of them moved on to other projects.
Breck Eisner, who directed The Crazies, Sahara and The Last Witch Hunter, is now lined up to take over the project.
An interesting fact is that Breck’s father, Michael Eisner, was in charge of Paramount during the original creation of the Friday The 13th series.
