Concept Movie For Madoka Magica Hints At New Work
It is a glimmer of hope for Madoka Magica fans everywhere. Since the release of the third film, Rebellion, fans have been looking for even a hint at there being new work for the franchise underway. Now, although there has been no official announcement made, there is hope. SHAFT animation studio is set to unveil a short concept movie with a new story that is related to Puella Magi Madoka Magica for the “~Commemorating 40 Years of SHAFT~ Madogatori” event which is being held in Tokyo on Friday.
This film hints at a new project for the series and is born from the meetings held between director Akiyuki Simbo, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi, character designer Ume Aoki and the SHAFT studio since Rebellion was released back in 2013. The short also sees the return of former voice actors for the anime:
Aoi Yūki as Madoka Kaname
Chiwa Saito as Homura Akemi
Kaori Mizuhashi as Mami Tomoe
Eri Kitamura as Sayaka Miki
Ai Nonaka as Kyōko Sakura
Emiri Katō as Kyubey

Needless to say, this is a ray of hope for magical girl fans everywhere that perhaps we will have more Madoka Magica content in the future, especially following the ending of Rebellion.
