Neighbours actress Margot Robbie also known for her work in Wolf of Wall Street has according to Collider signed her contract to take on the role of Harleen Quinzel / Harley Quinn in the upcoming DC movie, Suicide Squad.
Harley Quinn was first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series from the 90s, playing the role of the loser henchwoman and on again off again girlfriend of the Joker. Since then the preppy psychopath has garnered a massive following of fans and has appeared in comics, video games and other cartoons but this will be her first appearance on the big screen. Since the DC New52 reboot, Harley Quinn has been an integral part of the Suicide Squad and their missions.
Robbie’s casting has led to further speculation surrounding the casting of the rest of the Squad, when the movie was first announced it was rumoured that Jared Leto, Will Smith, Ryan Gosling and Tom Hardy were all connected to the project alongside Robbie. Many now afford more credibility to the rumours and we’ll keep you posted as it becomes available.
