Ever since screenshots made there way onto the internet after an accidental leak gamers across the world have been speculating all things Street Fighter. So…crack those knuckles, dust off the controller and prepare to kick some serious ass as Super Street Fighter IV gets it launch this weekend! The-@rcade gang can’t wait to get their grubby little hands on it and in the spirit of competition and sportsmanship we plan on attending www.streetfighter.ie tournament in honour of the launch on Saturday. With new combos, improved powers and a whole heap of new characters we are aching for SSF4 to be on the shelves and in pure anticipation we take a look at all the shines in Super Street Fighter 4.
New Characters
Some old characters battle their way into the new Street Fighter, and we are more than happy to welcome back T. Hawk, Deejay, Cody and Guy as well as Makoto, Dudley and Ibuki. Two new characters also kick their way onto our screens, Hakan, the Turkish oil wrestler who endeavours to create the purest olive oil and the deadly Juri who works for Seth with the aid of optic implant called the ‘Feng Shui Engine’ that allows her to warp time. As well as these characters all the gang from Street Fighter 4 make their glorious return and are bringing a whole new wardrobe with a third costume available to make kicking ass look even better.
New Combos
Pulling off an Ultra combo at the right time to land the most devastating damage possible was definitely one of the highlights of Street Fighter 4 and now with Super Street Fighter 4 comes a whole new set of Ultra combos to get your thumbs and button bashing fingers wrapped around but only one Ultra combo can be slotted at a time, much like the Super Arts in Street Fighter III so don’t expect to be able to pull double Ultra combos….which would be awesome!
Online Play
The online play is also getting some new features, including team battles where up to 8 players can battle it out, Endless Battle, where you keep battling until you are defeated or manage to kick 8 other players virtual butts. Have you missed kicking the crap out of barrels and cars? Well fret no more because Capcom have brought them back and you can take all your pent up aggression on virtual barrels and cars once more! The wonderful people who bring us the glory of Street Fighter are also planning on releasing a downloadable Tournament mode which they plan on making available in the middle of June this year.
So if all that hasn’t grabbed your attention and you’re still not excited about the pending launch of Super Street Fighter IV well then clearly you hate video games! Get excited people the game is coming this weekend and if you feel like a challenge then don’t forget that the folks over at www.streetfighter.ie are bringing us a tournament this Saturday from 2pm so get yourself down to XGC Gaming Centre, Liffey Street, Dublin, and check out their website for more details.
