
RIP Efrem Zimbalist
News is constantly coming at us in this day and age and it’s hard to always pick up every single item and every now and again a story passes us by and it’s not until a few days later that we actually hear about it. That’s the case with this piece, Efrem Zimbalist might not be a name you’d know straight away but the man was the voice behind one of the most beloved and respect Batman characters – Alfred Pennyworth.
Efrem began his career his acting career after serving in the US military in World War II, his path began on stage before ultimately finding success on television with a six year stint in Warner Bros. 77 Sunset Strip. He joined the cast of Batman the Animated series in 1992 and would go on to voice Alfred in the animated features that would follow as well in Static Shock, Justice League and the Batman: Vengeace video game. He also lent his talent to the voice of Spider-Man super villain, Doctor Octopus.
Speaking about his role as Alfred, Efrem said that it “made me an idol in my little grandchildren’s eyes.“
Efrem passed away on May 2nd of natural causes.
