Who the hell is Catherine?

We are not too sure exactly why but we really want to play this game! Maybe it’s because we have no idea what it’s about, maybe it’s the giant afro wearing well rounded young woman advertising the game or maybe it’s because it actually looks like a pretty cool game…

You play Vincent a man who falls for another woman, ten years his junior. With the pressures placed on him by his over eager girlfriend to get married, Vincent runs to Catherines arms for comfort… *cough* At the same time a streak of unexplained deaths catches the attention of the locals, all young men who died in their sleep. Vincent soon begins to have strange dreams himself… someone or something is trying to kill him.
The game combines action with puzzles and horror, it’s due for release in less than two weeks in Japan but we won’t hold our breath for a European release but we will cross our fingers.

Castle Crashers take on Cancer

Anyone uses Facebook will have no doubt seen those various Causes/Likes for turning Facebook a different colour to raise awareness for different causes, well it seems the video game world has taken that idea upon themselves…

Due to popular demand Castle Crashers will be seeing the addition of an all new pink knight.  The Pink Knight pack will come with the Lollipop and 4 other brand new additional weapons to spread the love in your game of Castle Crashers. And the best part? All proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research charity organisations.

‘The Pink Knight Pack will be available on PSN for $1.99 and 100% of The Behemoth’s revenue from Pink Knight pack sales will be donated to charities devoted to Breast Cancer Research.’

And if you’re an Xbox gamer, don’t fret! The pink knight will be available for you too in the near future.

Near Death PSP Experience

This week an incident that could well have had a less than happy ending serves to remind us as to why we should not walk and game at the same time. A ten year old boy was saved from possible death earlier this week by an off-duty police officer when he walked off a railway platform while playing his PSP. The 23 year old police officer Alessandro Micalizzi jumped into action almost immediately, the ordeal ending in a matter of seconds.

‘He was with his mother and sister, and before he fell I saw them out of the corner of my eye and he was completely lost in his game and wasn’t looking where he was going. I just had a few seconds because he had got off a train and mine was due in less than a minute so I acted as quickly as I could, making sure not to touch the rails.’

Here’s hoping the young boy learns from his scare and will pay more attention to where he’s walking from now on, lest he walk out in front of another train or onto a main road next! Next time he might not be so lucky.

Gameboy Crime

Last May saw an argument over a stolen Game Boy that led to a fatal stabbing, plea of guilty and just earlier this week the conclusion; 5 and a half years imprisonment in New Jersey.  John Rosa, 23, of Paterson pleaded guilty in December to the homicide and gave the following details:

On the 2nd of May, 2010 he got into a fight with the victim over a Game Boy that had been stolen from a party several weeks earlier. The dispute escalated, leading to the victim being stabbed in the chest with a knife, whereas the victim had been handed a screwdriver to defend himself with.

Rosa was charged with manslaughter earlier this week and sentenced to 66 months imprisonment. The mother of the victim is, needless to say, outraged.

“I want you to think real hard about what you took away from me, over a video game,” she shouted at Rosa. “I hope you suffer.”

PlayStation 2 Goldmine

Are you one of many who believe that the Playstation 2 is a dead console? Well it seems you were mistaken. The Playstation 2 is still going strong, despite popular belief that it was dead all the way back in 2006 with the arrival of the Playstation 3.

First released in the year 2000 the console is still selling well, still receives some new titles and is still being manufactured, eleven years on. Sales of the console have been strong, so much so that the numbers have sometimes even overtaken that of the Playstation Portable. In the past year the Playstation 2 has sold over six million consoles, an astonishing number given that the Playstation 3’s numbers were around the 15 million mark. It looks like it will still be a while yet before the console truly dies.

As of February 2011 Sony’s tally for PS2 consoles sold worldwide stands at 151.12 million, making it highest selling console in history.

Bye Bye Beyblade Bathtub Battlers

These two young boys will soon be losing their beyblade collection, a spinning-top game based on a Japanese manga and anime of the same name, following an accident in the bathroom. The two boys were using the bathtub as a Beyblade arena resulting in the enamel of the tub being destroyed and chunks being removed. They are being forced to sell the weapons of the tubs destruction to help pay towards replacing the bathtub, as well as having to hand over their piggy banks! As the picture may suggest, neither are overly pleased with this outcome.
