Tales of Xillia announced

Just under two weeks ago we brought you our Tales series overview, now we’re back with the just released trailer for the next installation to the series just announced: Tales of Xillia. The game marks the 15th anniversary of the Tales series and its central theme is said to be ‘unwavering conviction’. The game is set for a Japanese release on the PlayStation 3 sometime in 2011, a western release date has yet to be announced.

The trailer is more informative than most others in the past, and highlights a number of features. The game will utilize the contrast between light and shadows, which is intended to lead the game to having a different style direction than Tales of Vesperia’s anime-style or Tales of Graces ‘ watercolour style. The trailer shows us that the graphics appear to build off of Tales of Vesperia’s improvements, though a lot more effort and detail seems to be going into the game’s environment this time around. The little we can see from the battles shows that certain aspects from other games will be in play, as well as the ability to combine artes – a completely new feature yet to have appeared in any of the previous installations to the series.

 Elder Scrolls 5 announced

It’s been almost 5 years since the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was released, and some were beginning to lose hope in a sequel. Days ago Bethesda Softworks announced the game everyone had been eagerly waiting and hoping for; the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim, and will be gracing our screens sometime in 2011.

It’s been confirmed that the game will be using an all-new engine, built internally at Bethesda as opposed to Oblivion’s Gamebyro, or the initially suspected id’s Tech 5 engine.

The teaser, however brief, sets the story for the game and suggests that the release date will be 11-11-11. If nothing else, this gives us a valid reason to look forward to the date.

Halo-Playing Muppet Proposal

Last time we brought you the video of how Matt proposed to Liz via a hacked copy of Earthbound, this week we find Cid Ceaser, a muppet fan, made his bid in outshining that with his proposal video done with Muppets made to the likeness of himself and his girlfriend Sara. And had it shown in a cinema with his girlfriend seated in the audience.

Sara immediately caught the likeness, and come the end of the video what was there to do other than say yes?

Virtual property to be included in will?

A law passed in Oklahoma in early November is said to be a reminder for people that online possessions – images, account information, etc. –  are all still possessions whose ownership should be specified in an individuals will. The article does not directly state it, and it has been acknowledged that this could conflict with service agreements, but the language suggests that this also covers online gaming accounts.

“When a person dies, someone needs to have legal access to their accounts to wrap up any unfinished business, close out the account if necessary or carry out specific instructions the deceased left in their will,” said outgoing Oklahoma state representative  Ryan Keisel. “Digital photo albums and e-mails are increasingly replacing their physical counterparts, and I encourage Oklahomans to think carefully about what they want to happen to these items when they pass away.”

At least our grandchildren will have something to look forward to when we inevitably pass away: plenty of Microsoft points and level 85 WoW characters.

And we get a little supportive with our next story, the human interest piece…

Poke-bra

So what happens when you leave a Pokémon fan alone with fabric pens and underwear? This, apparently:

Apparently the owner of the article has a great dislike for plain, white articles of clothing. And thus the Poké-bra was born! What better way to hide your love of the games yet still keep a token of them close to heart?
