How much does Free cost?
Ok so before we get stuck into the news, ogle this magnificent cinematic trailer for ‘Firefall’…
Firefall is brought to us by two of the great minds behind some of the most well known online games, from Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft comes Mark Kern and from Dynamix and the online multiplayer shoot ’em up Tribes is Scott Youngblood.
Another MMORPG, what’s the big deal?
The big deal friends is that Firefall is going to be free – that’s right free to play and free to download. Take a look at the trailer again and then look at the in gameplay graphics below – yes this beauty of a game is going to be F.R.E.E.! We can be totally honest here and say that those MMORPG’s that are free to play usually suck. Poor graphics, little character customisation and weak plots, we’ve downloaded and recycled our fair share of them. So we were a little apprehensive first when we hire Firefall was going to be a freebie…
Players will be able to spend their actual money on items and weapons in game but developers are already stating that there won’t be an unequal balance between rich players and poor players. Firefall is set for a late release in 2011 and we’ll have more for you as the story of this strange concept grows…free games….there has to be a catch somewhere…
Getting Jiggy with it…in 3D
Dead or Alive is going to be make it’s way onto a Nintendo 3DS near you soon…with a date to be announced as of yet. This alongside Dead or Alive: Code Chronos will be the first game to be released in the series since 2005 – we’re excluding spin offs and side series games here of course.
We are pretty impressed by what we’ve seen in the screenshots and just so you can eyeball some fine computer generated ladies for yourself here are a whole heap of shots…from us to you!

It’s almost Christmas… middle of September… people, have you started getting ready for everyone’s favourite commercialised holiday? We know that Microsoft and Sony are gearing up for the winter holidays – PlayStation Move and Kinect are set to be some of the most sought after gifts this year and they will be directly competing for the top sales this year.
All is fair in love and Christmas sales so the war has begun with Sony kicking off the battle with a bit of a dig at the Xbox 360 and Kinect:
Microsoft don’t seem worried, apparently Bill Gates has been redirecting mail to Santa to his home and is chuckling to himself as the new Xbox package is high on everyone’s list already. Hope Santa Gates remembers that the @rcade have been very good all year.
Now it has been brought to our attention that we can’t rightly call ourselves the NEWS if we don’t actually use a light hearted piece in every segment so here is this week’s special report…
