Taliban are a bad choice

Much agro seems to surround Electronic Art’s new Medal of Honour game which is set for release in just over a week now. Catapulting the player into the world of the war in Afghanistan originally the US military were supportive of the developers creating the virtual world and many soldiers spoke out and encouraged the game. However it has now come to the military’s realisation (why it didn’t months ago is baffling!) that in online mode you will have the option of not just slaughtering the Taliban members but you will also be able to choose their side and fight against American soldiers.
Now this really hasn’t gone down too well with the military and they’ve explained that it wouldn’t go down well with the soldiers either.Rather than stick to their guns and keep the Taliban, EA have said that the enemy forces have been renamed and that it had nothing to do with upsetting the US military…they promised!

F**K THIS SH*T!
Ever exploded into fits of rage after spending ages skulking around pixelated corners only to be sniped by the camping coward in the tower? Ever rained a torrent of foul language down your headset at the a**h*l* who ‘pwned’ you during a match? As it happens having such emotional outbursts (exhaustive fits of rage count too) are good for your psyche and the man who proved it has just been awarded an Ig Nobel prize.

Richard Stephens of Keele University and his team examined the effects and advantages to swearing if any and conducted a rather simple experiment. By having his guinea pigs (test humans) place their hands into vats of ice cold water he measured how long people lasted and discovered that those who were bold boys and girls and swore were able to last longer. By swearing, Stephens suggests, we increase our heart rate, jolt our nervous system and activate the ‘fight or flight’ instinct.
So next time you get told off for calling your opponent a f**k faced tw*t, just explain afterwards you were taking care of your mental health! This video might prove the opposite of what Mr. Stephens has been saying…temper tantrums are fun though…
Hellboy director directing new direction in THQ

Guillermo del Toro is one of the greatest visionary directors of our time. The man has created entire worlds where even the fantastic can be terrifying and now he is set to put his spin on the world of video games. Del Toro has directed movies such as the Oscar winning Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy: The Golden Army and The Devil’s Backbone, has stepped on board with game developers THQ to work on a new line of video games with them.
THQ are the minds behind the Saints Row series, WWE franchise and more are now working with del Toro on several projects including RPGs and even a new horror style game, something which del Toro is pleased about but not willing to give much away:”It’s horror…but it’s a very different type of horror game,” the director says. “It’s not survival horror. It’s truly a strange, geeky mix. It’s a Lovecraftian thing. Let’s leave it at that.”Now it’s time for your weekly human interest story from the world of gaming…
WoW death isn’t very becoming
We’ve all been touched by loss, grieved over a loved one, a close friend or even a family pet. What happens to the game characters created by those who have passed on? Four years ago (hey old news is still good news… *scowls*) a young woman and avid World of Warcraft player passed away and when news reached her gaming friends they decided to honour her memory on the server by holding a gathering…
Is nothing sacred anymore!?
