“Since no one can kill me, I may as well kill everyone I can”, the rail-gun wielding Queen of luck, Fortune featured in the popular Metal Gear sequel on the PlayStation 2. Believing she has the supernatural ability to deflect bullets and turn deadly explosives into duds, Fortune was a force for Snake and Raiden to reckon with. After the real reason for her ability was revealed, Fortune turn’s on Ocelot and aids Snake in his battle against Metal Gear Ray. Shot in the chest, a bullet meant for heart misses due to her dextrocardia, Fortune stands up to the gigantic weapon and with the last of her life deflects every single one of Metal Gear Rays missiles and bullets, allowing Snake to take it down.

You – Timesplitters II

A first person shooter you take on the role of a nameless character that must travel through different periods of time and assume the identities of different people in order to complete different missions and stop the Timesplitters from taking over.

Joanna Dark is the highly skilled and formidable agent of the Carrington Institute. A former bounty hunter, Joanna has had to tackle governments and mega-corporations alike in her career as a spy. She first appeared on the Nintendo 64 in 2000 and at first Joanna was charged with uncovering the shady dealings of the government and corporations as well conspiracies involving aliens. Later Joanna is concerned with bringing down the ‘DataDyne’ corporation and those responsible for the death of her father.

Jill Valentine & Chris Redfield – Resident Evil series

These two should never be separated, taking down Umbrella, fight off Zombie Hordes and survive the evolution of a deadly virus time and time again. Duke is known for his foul mouth, his lust for violence and his smooth moves with the ladies. Originally a silent character in the first two games, Duke was just some guy who was annoyed at a bad guy interrupting his TV shows. Later on we come to know the REAL Duke and we never want him to change.

When a portal to another dimension is opened by an experiment conducted by Gordon and his fellow scientists at the Black Mesa Research Facility, he fights back against the aliens and Black Op forces that have been sent in to deal with the invasion as well the remaining survivors. Who says scientists can’t be badass?

Revealed as a female bounty hunter, Samus Aran first appeared in the video game world in Metroid for the Nintendo in 1986. As young girl her family as well as everyone else in her colony were killed in a raid by space pirates lead by Ridley. Infused with alien DNA, Samus is granted formidable resistance to harsh environments and trains herself to become one of the galaxy’s most powerful bounty hunters.

Master Chief – Halo series

The protagonist of the Halo games, you take on the role of Master Chief Petty Officer John – 117. The cybernetic enhanced super-soldier, despite being newcomer, considered to be one of the gaming worlds icons and why wouldn’t he be? With his trademark green armour, the Master Chief battles the Covenant to protect humanity from the theocratic and fanatical alliance of alien races.

James Bond – Golden Eye

A Nintendo 64 game released in 1997, it sold over eight million copies in its time. Praised for its fantastic multiplayer death match mode, countless hours were spent chasing friends around classic Bond stages, armed with a Golden gun and the sheer drive to gun down our best friends.
