It has been a little over a week since Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington took his own life, and I for one am still reeling from the news.
On the day of his tragic passing, Linkin Park also released their newest single ‘One More Light’ from their new album of the same name.
‘One More Light’ is a beautiful song that showcases the softer side of Chester’s iconic voice. The instrumental, and in particular the lead guitar, is quite understated and you would be forgiven for being surprised that this is a Linkin Park song.
The lyrics of the song speak of finding hope at a time in our lives when it seems like there is none at all. In light of Chester’s untimely death, it is evident from these lyrics that this was a man seeking catharsis through his music; any brief respite from his struggles with his mental health.
