The internet has been set ablaze with more MCU news as it’s come to pass that, apparently, Captain Marvel has been cast. But that’s not all, she’s been tied to an appearance in upcoming Avengers film Age of Ultron.
Now, this is all speculation, but Latino Review, a site notorious for having good scoops well ahead of time, have said that Carol’s been cast, and that she will be appearing in Age of Ultron as part of a second Avengers team that Captain America is putting together. This would make a lot of sense as with Captain America: Civil War coming up, it’s been somewhat assumed that Cap would be bringing in a New Avengers as his own team since he doesn’t quite get along with Tony Stark.
As part of the report, it’s been said that the Captain Marvel solo film is still in early development, without a set screenwriter as of yet. However, Kelly Sue DeConnick, the writer of Carol Danvers’ current run, is said to have put a bid in to write a draft, but Marvel haven’t made a decision on including her. Jim Starlin, a classic Captain Marvel writer, has been brought in as consultant. It looks like Marvel are trying hard to not screw this up, which is nice.
It would seem Avengers: Age of Ultron is the biggest puzzle piece to a lot of this, so we’ll see what happens come 23rd April, 2015.
