Nintendo at E3 – What I'd like to see

Since Nintendo decided to release the Wii U last year instead of this year, they managed to avoid the dogfight of sorts that Sony and Microsoft have gotten themselves into for console supremacy. This means that Nintendo can play it safe this year at E3 and release more Mario, Zelda and Pokemon related titles for […]

Microsoft – The Analysis so far!

After Sony’s conference in February, I got a little bit excited. Sony kept the focus on games, improving gameplay and the interactivity between the gamer and the game. The Playstation 4 sounded like a step forward for games consoles, taking the focus back to the gamer in his room playing games for hours on end. […]

Jeff Hanneman – In Memoriam

It feels really strange typing these words. After a certain amount of time and repeated exposure to someone’s creative output, that creative output stops being like a window into the world that person has created and actually starts becoming part of the the world around you. You forget that those pieces of creativity, those fragments […]

Review: Evil Dead (2013)

Let’s get one thing out of the way before I start this review. If you are on the fence or have decided not to give the new Evil Dead a chance because you think it’s a cash grab, or disagree with the idea of an Evil Dead remake/reboot/sequel/whatever you want to believe this film is, […]

Review: Blackstar Book One

'So that's what Akira would be like if it was set in Ireland!' is not a sentence I thought I would be saying when I began reading 'Blackstar', the new indie comic from Mike Lynch. Really, I wasn't sure what to expect, but whatever expectations I had were blown out of the water by the opening scene, a satirical extra-terrestrial encounter at a gas station that reads like something you'd find in a Men in Black film.

Game of Thrones – Season 3 Episode 1 Review

‘HOLY S**T, THERE’S MOTHER-F*****G DRAGONS!’ followed by ‘HOLY S**T, THERE’S MOTHER-F*****G WHITE WALKERS!’ was the chorus that followed the end of Season 2 of Game of Thrones. Now, after another year of waiting, we have the start of Season 3, and to say we’re excited is an understatement. Unfortunately, there was no White Walkers to […]
