Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Anime
Next up, there was a surprise announcement. There is Cyberpunk anime in the making, as CD Projekt Red have partnered with Trigger and Netflix. Called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, it is set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and will release some time in 2022. Here is the announcement trailer, along with a few words from creators and producers of the anime.
The final part of the stream, consisted of a look at a mechanic called ‘Braindance’. Braindance is an ability to hack into and use someones experiences, in order to investigate, scan and discover information that may be needed for missions. The process is made up of a number of layers, such as visual, sound and thermal layers. These layers can be switched between to pinpoint exactly what you are looking for. Think the detective mode in the Arkham series or investigation mode from Detroit: Become Human. For more info, check out the full gameplay below (beginning at 11.08).
There is plenty still to see from the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and there will be a number of additional Night City Wire episodes to come. Expect to see another in just a few weeks.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on the new date of November 19th 2020. It will come to Google Stadia later in the year and players who buy the current-gen console version, will get a free update for Xbox Series X or PS5, depending on their respective console purchase.
