You couldn’t find a bigger fan of Kubo and the Two Strings if you tried. I fell head over heels for the animated feature on release. I have art, the soundtrack and the DVD/Blu-ray releases. For any other fans out there, you probably don’t need me telling you but it’s now on Netflix. If you have yet to catch Kubo’s adventure, check it out this weekend! Seriously! You won’t regret it. And you’ll fall madly in love with this cover by Regina Spektor for the movie.
I mentioned the soundtrack above. Well I am just after watching the film again and I found the perfect track of the day. Don’t shoot me, I am not the biggest music buff, I didn’t know this track was originally by the Beatles. I can feel your disdain from here. That aside, I just cannot get enough of Spektor’s cover. It’s endearing, it draws on so much influence from the movie and her vocals are like always, captivating.
For the record I have heard the original version of the song and I love it. It’s very different but equally beautiful.
