Nintendo Switch Online Paid Service Coming September 2018

The Nintendo Switch Online paid service is coming September. News comes via Nintendo’s website. It’s been a promised feature since launch and details on the online service are as follows:

You’ll be able to play co-operative and competitive games online by signing in with your Nintendo Account. Online play will be available for free until the membership service launches in September 2018.

A dedicated app for smart devices

There will be a dedicated app for smart phone devices. This app launched alongside Splatoon 2, in advance of the official start of the Nintendo Switch Online service in September 2018. The app allows you to:

  • Invite friends and voice chat during games
  • Link to compatible games (example is in Splatoon 2’s SplatNet 2, where you can see your online battle stats, your gear, and much more.

Classic Game Selection*

Members will have ongoing access to a library of classic games with added online play, such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario. (*Name subject to change.)

Exclusive promotions

Members may receive special member-only price promotions for certain products in Nintendo eShop.

  • month (30 days) – €3,99
  • months (90 days) – €7,99
  • 12 months (365 days) – €19,99

Nintendo also allow players to enjoy online services for free until the membership service’s official launch in September 2018.
