I’ve been trying to shake up my music playlist recently. For as long as I can remember I’ve had this annoying habit. If I find a song a like I have a tendency to over play it. Mind you I never get sick of it but the people around me sure do. So while staying away from current favourites I stumbled upon an old favourite of mine by KT Tunstall.
‘Black Horse and the Cherry Tree’ was released 13 years ago, in 2005. This wonderful song has not lost any of its flavour at all. It’s not one of those songs that seems to have aged badly, in fact I think I appreciate it a lot more now than I did back then. It features on KT’s album ‘Eye To The telescope ‘ an album which shot to number 3 in the charts shortly after its release. ‘Black Horse and The Cherry Tree’ was the song that attracted me to KT Tunstall‘s music then and I’ve admired it ever since.
So today’s track is a bit of a fallback friday. This song has opened the floodgates to songs of the early 00’s. Songs that I haven’t listened to and I am quite looking forward to listening to again. I can’t wait to see what pops up on shuffle when I let Spotify do its thing. This song is definitely one to get me into that friday feeling.
