Any fans of Twilight Zone or its modern equivalent, Black Mirror, will be excited to learn more is on its way! Jordan Peele (Get Out, Key and Peele) is developing a reboot alongside Simon Kinberg (X-Men) and Marco Ramirez (Daredevil, Defenders). Seeing this project developing is particularly exciting since Peele has demonstrated considerable horror chops through the remarkable Get Out.
Peele explains his motivation behind the new series is linked to recent real-world events: “Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.” Additionally, Kinberg comments: “The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life. The opportunity to continue its lineage is a dream come true.” The new series will run under CBS All Access, meaning it will be available on demand worldwide to all subscribers. This of course means we’ll have to sign up to All Access before we can view this new content.
I’m a big fan of the original Twilight Zone, ‘One For the Angels’ being my favourite. I even watched the short-lived revival with Forrest Whitaker. Personally, I really look forward to this revival and can’t wait to see what kind of material Peele will produce. Additionally, I feel like it can’t hurt to introduce a new generation to the joys of Twilight Zone. However, I can see why the subscription is a drawback for a lot of people.
What do you think? Does this new addition to CBS make All Access worth it? Do you think you’ll watch it? Let us know in the comments!
