New Poster Art For Stranger Things Season 2 Released

Like most Stranger Things fans, I’ve been shivering with anticipation for this new season. So imagine my surprise when seeing this awesome new poster for season two!

The artwork features the entire season two cast (along with a particularly ghoulish Eleven) with a big Hallowe’en backdrop. There’s a nicely spooky scarecrow in the background, along with the gang’s slick Ghostbuster costumes. I especially enjoy Lucas’ Rambo-style headband. However, that’s only the tip of the creepy iceberg for season 2.

A nightmarish, Lovecraftian monster looms above the entire cast in a blood-red sky. Meanwhile, the pumpkins beneath their feet look fairly unhealthy (to say the least). They are covered in a dark growth which looks rather like the vegetation found in the Upside Down. This may be a clue as to the plot for the new season. Maybe we’ll see the Upside Down leaking into places other than the Byers household? Notably, Will Byers seems to occupy a large role in the poster, second only to Eleven in prominence. Perhaps this underscores Will’s larger role in the coming season?

The series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine. New cast additions include Sadie Sink (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers), Brett Gelman (Blunt Talk, The Other Guys), newcomer Linnea Berthelsen, and veteran actors Sean Astin (The Goonies) and Paul Reiser (Aliens).

The new season will be available on October 27.
