This is the second time this unique artist has been my Track of the Day, and the third time she’s featured. Yet today is a special occasion because Ms Spektor is coming to see us this Sunday in concert.
Her latest album, Remember Us to Life, also contains a hotel song, if you’ll excuse the pun, named ‘Grand Hotel’ which I also love. But this song has a very special place, both from it craic track feel and its mainstream impact. So many films feature it and not everyone will know Regina, but they might know the song and its “a little bit of cocaine” line. Again an unintended pun. But the point is that this is truly a get the weekend up and going song perfect for your Friday middle finger to work.
