James Cameron Talks Terminator Reboot

He’ll be back! James Cameron is quite busy planning all the sequels to Avatar but he still has Terminator in his mind.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that some of the Terminator rights will revert to him by 2019 and he wants to do stuff with them. Apparently he is in some early talks with Tim Miller to direct a new Terminator movie, which Cameron would produce.

But that’s not all, because in a recent interview he discusses his future plans. He’s in talks with David Ellison (the current rights holder) to see what they do with it. They’re planning a new trilogy, and Cameron will have some involvement but he will pass the torch in the end.

In this interview he doesn’t mince words about all the other Terminator films after T2: Judgement Day. He says he doesn’t like them, but that he never said anything out of support for Arnold Schwarzenegger. One thing is supporting a friend, but a different thing is making a video saying that Terminator Genisys is the true sequel to T2, but I’m not going there.

Hopefully this will happen. Terminator has been breaking my heart ever since Rise of the Machines came out, we deserve good Terminator films.
