Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the sequel to the 2014 hit film, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and is due out September 29, 2017. The sequel will see the return of Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Sophie Cookson as well as several new cast members. Matthew Vaughn is once again directing the sequel where we will meet the Statesmen (The Statesmen are the American equivalent to the British Kingsman). It sounds awesome already.
The new cast includes Julianne Moore as Poppy and then Elton John as a version of himself envisioned by Vaughn. Entertainment Weekly released photos of three other cast members as they will appear in the film.
First, we have Channing Tatum as one of the American Statesman Secret Agents. The suits we have become accustomed to on the Kingsman agents don’t appear to be the same for the American counterparts. That is, of course, unless Tatum‘s character goes against the norm of the other agents.
The next image that was released is of Jeff Bridges‘ character who is the head of the American Statesman. He looks as you would expect Jeff to look in this film; a man who lives by the rules of the Statesman, and a bit of a curmudgeon. The final image that EW revealed features Halle Berry as Ginger. She may fill a similar role for the American Statesman as Mark Strong‘s Merlin did for the Kingsman.
Personally, I am hoping Halle Berry is a traitor, or turns out to be the ‘big bad’, but that is just me. As for the looks of the new Statesman Agents, I think there is just a slight difference to what we saw with The Kingsman. I am looking forward to this sequel as I was absolutely blown away by the original.
