7 Funniest Supernatural Episodes

With the election results making a lot of us feel uneasy or scared, I think we all need a good laugh. We all know Supernatural is chock full of creepy monsters and big bads. But it’s also full to the brim of comedy. So here are 7 of my favourite funny episodes of Supernatural to take your mind off what’s happening.

Swap Meat (Season 5, Episode 12)

Sam and Dean drive out to Massachusetts to help their old babysitter with a poltergeist. The episode starts out with Sam acting rather strange in a bar, as you can see in the clip below. As it turns out, Sam and a teenager called Gary have been body swapped! Gary has taken over Sam’s body, and decides to spend his first day as a 26 year old buying banana daiquiri’s and hooking up with older ladies. Sam is stuck in the body of a teenager, and has to deal with his parents!

The French Mistake (Season 6, Episode 15)

‘The French Mistake’ is without a doubt one of the funniest Supernatural episodes of all time. Balthazar sends Sam and Dean into our reality, where they are not hunters. They just play them on TV. They try to find Castiel, but instead meet Misha Collins, and discover that they are all just actors. There are countless funny moments in this episode, way too many to name. I give you a ‘laugh your ass off’ guarantee. Here’s a clip of Sam and Dean, trying to act as Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles acting as Sam and Dean.

Changing Channels (Season 5, Episode 8)

In an attempt to show Sam and Dean that they need to ‘play their roles’ in the upcoming apocalypse, our favourite trickster angel Gabriel transports them into a TV world. In order to escape, they must play the game. This includes a cheesy sitcom with a laugh track, a Japanese game show called NUTCRACKER!, parodies of shows like Grey’s Anatomy, CSI Miami and Knightrider. Poor Sam is stuck in a commercial for genital herpes! What do you think of their impressions of Horatio Caine in the clip below?

Dog Dean Afternoon (Season 9, Episode 5)

Sam and Dean investigate a murder where a dog is the only eyewitness. Hilarity ensues when Dean drinks a potion that allows him to talk to animals. As well as that, he starts acting like a dog too! Leslie Jordan (American Horror Story) features in this episode as an adorable little Yorkie with a Southern accent and an attraction to Sam. One of the best moments, though, as featured in the clip below, has got to be Dean arguing with a pigeon that just took a dump on his car.

Tall Tales (Season 2, Episode 15)

‘Tall Tales’ marked the first appearance of our beloved trickster Gabriel. Although at this stage we only knew him as Loki. Sam and Dean call in Bobby to help them with a strange case that has them stumped. There are a ton of bizarre happenings on a college campus, including an alien abduction as you can see in the clip below. Like all the trickster episodes, this one is full of fun. Sam and Dean themselves are acting really crazy, and it leads to some hilarious sibling fights. Poor Bobby has to sort the boys out.

Bad Day at Black Rock (Season 3, Episode 3)

Sam and Dean get their hands on a lucky rabbit’s foot. Which sounds great, and they end up having the best of luck while in possession of it. They win a bunch of stuff, and pull off some awesome tricks with it. Unfortunately, when they lose it, their luck runs out completely. This episode is full of slapstick comedy, lots of people slapping off the ground, tripping over and losing their shoes.

Yellow Fever (Season 4, Episode 6)

Quite possibly the funniest moment in all of Supernatural features in ‘Yellow Fever’. Dean is infected with a ghost virus that has been making men die from fright. He becomes super paranoid about everything around him – including running away from a Yorkie that he’s mistaken for a hellhound. All of Dean’s frightened behaviour definitely makes this one of the most hilarious episodes of all time, especially the clip below!

Hopefully these episodes will cheer you guys up and take your minds off the chaos of the election time. Just remember, if these two eejits can take down the biggest monsters of all time, we can do the same!
