With the real world set to celebrate the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Blizzard has set up a new seasonal surprise for their players.

The Overwatch universe is also hosting their own Summer games in Rio! Showcased in the video below, the update features new cosmetic items representing countries and Olympic Sports. On top of that, we also have a new game mode called ‘Lucioball’.

In short, the game mode is a rip-off of Rocket League where you use Lucio’s sound blaster to push the ball around. The game mode is simple, but fun, and a perfect break between competitive rounds.

Cosmetic items can be earned through special Summer Loot Boxes, a replacement for normal boxes for the duration of the event. Some fans have criticised the fact you could only earn summer skins through loot boxes, not in game credits, but the game’s director Jeff Kaplan has explained his reasoning behind the decision.

The Overwatch Summer Games will last from August 2 until August 22. If you want to earn any Summer skins, you must play and earn a loot box within this time. Good luck to everyone hunting down that Tracer skin, I’m right there with you! See you during rounds of Lucioball!
