Lookin’ for Another Pure Love – Stevie Wonder feat. Jeff Beck – Track Of The Day
There are many musicians capable of releasing more than one masterpiece. In the 1970’s, Motown legend Stevie Wonder released six. Consecutively. My favourite of these albums is Talking Book. and my favourite track on that album is ‘Lookin’ for Another Pure Love’, a beautiful ballad about the healing process after a relationship.
Stevie Wonder’s incredible work with producers Robert Margouleff and Malcolm Cecil helped develop a unique electronic sound as beautiful as any orchestra. Wonder mostly played all the instruments himself including the drums but certain tracks required a little more. The intimate guitar sound from the iconic Jeff Beck perfectly complements Wonder’s electric piano and Moog synthesiser. The solo Beck provides is amazing too.
